Mishawn Simms

A Los Angeles-based photographer, creative storyteller, and education strategist whose work centers connection, care, and intentional storytelling. With a Master of Education in School Counseling and bachelor's degrees in Family Studies and Apparel Merchandising, her work is grounded in active listening, relationship building, and thoughtful execution. Through portraits, street photography, and storytelling-driven imagery, her images are defined by rich tones, clean compositions, and emotional depth, preserving memory, documenting emotion, and honoring the quiet beauty of everyday life.

A Black & Chamorro creative strategist, copywriter, poet, translator, and spoken-word artist from Columbia, SC. Her poetry collections Chamorrita Song and WHO ALL GON' BE THERE?, music projects, and mixed-media collage work showcase her versatility and commitment to powerful narratives. With an MFA in poetry, her work amplifies voices, forges meaningful connections, and contributes to a culture of care and intentionality in the arts.
